more irkment. j-dawg wants the full line to play the banner. i do not understand why he can't wait another year, he hasn't had the guts to tell the line for the last three, why on earth start now, with such a big graduating class? playing the banner is a privledge you wait for. i had always imagined (yeah...me and my runaway imagination...) what it would be like to stand before the crowd and play, all by myself, eyes full of pride as i watch several thousand people stand to salute our flag. is it wrong to feel robbed right now? to feel like i waited patiently for my turn to shine only for it to be given to underclassmen (sorry guys, if you're reading this) who don't even know what the real meaning is, who don't understand the privledge, the responsibility associated with playing the star-spangled banner? i say let the section leaders, or let the seniors play, and make the others wait as i had to. so that, when they are seniors, they too will understand what a great undertaking playing our nations's anthem is...any thoughts on this?
