surely my faithful blog-hoppers have read frankenstein, right? victor frankenstein makes a creature because of his own scientific obsession and then, horrified by what he has done, flees it, cursing it for life. he makes a monster who lashes out in anger against its maker because of his loneliness and abandonment. i feel like victor right now. i feel as if i've effectively destroyed the feelings of someone very close and very dear to me, after i myself was the cause and creator of them. i've toyed with his emotions beyond belief; i've confused, perplexed and puzzled him with my complexities; i've been his heaven and his hell at the same time. i guess this is all frustrating to me because i thought i could escape this part of the female psyche, the part that drags guys through the dirt and leaves them to die on the side of the road. now it seems to me that i am just as guilty as any other member of my sex, that despite my desperate attempts to leave their world behind, i cannot and will never be able to do so...
