random thought: i hate it when i can't sleep in the morning and then get really tired later in the day...i don't have to be at class for three hours but i'm already awake...what's up with that?

another random thought, compliments of one of my cymbal buddies: "okay, give me a four-letter word." "truck!"

you know why i love, absolutely love UT right now? it's so different than southlake. there's such an eclectic mic of people here and i find it absolutely fascinating. my first day of classes was pretty good. it really, really helps to be in a FIG (freshman interest group, where about 20 freshman take 3 of the same classes based on major). i found a lot of people i had met at orientation that are in a lot of my classes because i'm in a FIG with them. so it's awesome. it really helps in big lecture classes to know someone. anyway, first i went to intro to theatre and dance, which i really think will be an awesome class. the teacher is hilarious, he's this really young witty guy who really seems to know his stuff, and i think i'm going to enjoy the material. then i had musicianship with this teacher who kinda seems partially obsessed with death but otherwise okay. it's a really small class, and if nothing else i think it will help me enormously in arranging/composing stuff for piano. i had to laugh at him yesterday because he still had the size sticker on the collar of his shirt...anyways, from there it's a very long walk (in a very short time) to astronomy, who's being taught by this cool guy with long hair and a british accent. that also seems like it'll be a cool class, although perhaps a little harder for me to grasp because i'm not really a science person, but that's okay.

and hey--guess what! i get to see my baby in two short days! woohoo! it's been about two weeks...i'm excited! and on sunday night i have my first football game where UT will proceed to BEAT THE HELL OUTTA NEW MEXICO STATE! so life is pretty good right now. i love you all and i miss you!
