and now for a completely serious question, no laughing...please!

ever since i talked to the pit director of madison scouts (who, i found out, lives about 50 yds away from me...suhweet!) i've had drum corps on the brain. i mean, i've said over and over again, man that would be so much fun, i wish i could do that someday. and maybe i can. this is just a crazy idea of mine, i'm not sure i'm going to do it or anything so please don't freak out on me, but nov. 22-23 there's an audition in cedar park (suburb of austin) for the bluecoats, who placed 7th in this year's DCI finals-not bad. also, they are one of the (it seems) few corps that march cymbals, so i could try out on cymbals and in pit and see how i do. my question for you guys is, what do ya'll think? have i gone completely crazy? maybe i should just go, see how i like it, and see if i'm good enough. it would mean i'd be gone from june 1 to august 1-not all summer, but almost. i don't know if i like the fact of being gone all summer, but...it's drum corps...and with all the intense (and i mean INTENSE) work i've been doing in percussion lately, i just might be good enough to pull this thing off. anyhoo. leave comments! :-)
