a few random thoughts... because i think i deserve a break from homework; i've been entirely too productive tonight, so it's time to mess around...
tonight i rediscovered my long-lost love for clay aiken. that guy has the most amazing voice in the world. it's really too bad that the record companies turned him into this cookie-cutter pop sensation. he could have been so much more. i absolutely cannot wait until the third american idol. it's gonna be great! (i hope) yeah, i know... i am such an incredible sucker for these shows. you may make fun of me, but if you've ever seen the show, you know: it's incredibly addicting...
i absolutely LOVE our LHB halftime show for the next few games. it's music from oscar-winning movies..... picture: LOTR, gladiator, braveheart, rocky, gone with the wind... and the "dink dink" song from spaceballs!!!! (i know it's from another movie, but oh well) it's absolutely to die for. sadly we're not doing this for the baylor game (*tears*) but after that hopefully we'll get to do it 3 times, including the A&M game... so if you're coming to that... you'll get to see this most awesome marching show EVER! (better than OU's band at red river shootout... "great movies of the '80s"? whaaaaat?)
jen got to see part of the show last night at my LHB rehearsal. jen, i'm so glad you got to come down here! I LOVE YOU!!! seriously, i'm so glad she came. especially since now it kinda sounds like she's not coming to waco on saturday... i might be wrong, but that's the impression i'm getting from people. all well.... well, rain or shine, i'll be there, lyd, so no fear, you'll have company, even if everyone else bails out on ya!
finally got my "texas drums" shirt yesterday, which i am WAY excited about... it's about time! and hopefully by the next time i'm back in s'lake i'll have my drumline JACKET too! man, won't i look bad... and by bad, i mean really really awesome... :-)
the coolest thing i did today was go to a marimba masterclass with artist janis potter. this woman is amazing. i am so not even joking. she did a transcription of "rhapsody in blue" for marimba and i seriously thought i was going to die right there. on the spot. it was just crazy. i really wish i was that good just so i could play that song. that would be uber. seriously.
okay, that's enough randomness for right now. i love you all!!!
