*sigh* this weekend was really really great. among the highlights: learned to two-step (well.... uhhh... kinda) with tyler at this country dance hall called midnight rodeo which was GREAT even though we both suck! also we went to go see this musical the UT dept. of theatre and dance put on called "love jerry"... it was really really good... a little piece of advice for you: go check out your local friendly university theatre department and watch really good, underappreciated actors put on really good, underappreciated works. it truly is good stuff. if there's anything i've learned from the intro to theare and dance class i've had to take, it's that.
and now for something completely different... a song. the truth be told, i don't like this song very much on the radio. it bugs me, just like most bubblegum pop country stations love to play, but the lyrics to this song hold so much truth in them that they can't be ignored...
this is for all you girls about thirteen
high school can be so rough, can be so mean
hold onto your innocence
stand your ground when everybody's giving in
this is for all you girls about twenty-five
in little apartments just trying to get by
living on dreams and spaghetti-os
wondering where your life is gonna go
this one's for the girls
who have ever had a broken heart
who've wished upon a shooting star
you're beautiful the way you are
this one's for the girls
who love without holding back
who dream with everything they have
all around the world
this one's for the girls
this is for all you girls about forty-two
tossing pennies into the fountain of youth
every laugh, laugh line on your face
made you who you are today
weah we're all the same inside
from one to ninety-nine
and just for the record, the lyrics about the twenty-five year old... sound an awful lot like me. :-) i'm livin on dreams and spaghetti-os... or bagel bites... or *insert any pre-packeged food here*...
