weekend, but not a weak end
awesome weekend. awesome week. awesome life in general. did i mention that i am blessed beyond all belief?
fiesta flambeau was yesterday. some good memories associated with last year's. and some more with this year's. i had some life-changing turtle cheesecake at magnolia at about 12 am. you should all try it. with some whipped cream on the side... mmmm, glorious.
then this afternoon (after i slept from the hours of 6 am to about 1 pm)i had traditions rehearsal. time passed so quickly-i was amazed. i'm a backup dancer and we get to do this hip-hop dance to "lose my breath" by destiny's child. i'm getting more and more ghetto with the passing of each day. when i have it down i'll let you know and if you ask very nicely, i'll show you. :-)
i just got back from church. not exactly proud of it, but i hadn't been since spring break with my family-a combination of not feeling like going and not being able to because of time committments. i picked a really, really great week to start up again though. this week's message was about how jesus dealt with two groups of people in the gospels:
a)people who didn't claim to be under the name of God and led sinful lives, versus
b)those who did claim God's name yet led sinful lives. (pharisees, etc.)
the first He invited to dinner and preached forgiveness. the second he called "a brood of vipers" and told them they were children of Satan. i'd never thought about it before. something to think about before we condemn people who live so-called "anti-Christian" lifestyles (what does the quoted word really mean, anyway?)-jesus saved his harshest words for those who claimed fellowship with Him. a very thought-provoking message, and one with which i felt more communion than i have in a while-i can't go to church anymore without someone saying something about the world that angers me, and today was no exception, but at least i didn't feel diametrically opposed to the message. and maybe i was challenged, if only a little, to pick up the Bible and know, if nothing else, what exactly angers me about Christians today.
catholics just elected a new pope. i'm quite interested to see how he walks the ropes.
hmm.. this girl needs to clean her room. how on earth does it get so messy so fast?
