time capsule

huh. interesting. i found these letters i wrote to liz and jen (and the beginning of a letter to lyd) in my LHB folder from freshman year.

dear liz (8/24/03),
hey! how are you! i'm sitting in LHB rehearsal right now and i'm kind of bored... our instructor hasn't written music to our show yet so we're just kinda chillin'. this show rocks-it's music from "chicago" and it's awesome. did you ever see that play/movie? i loved it. anyway... oooooh, now they're playing "cell block tango", rock on! i love LHB. i'm so glad i made it, because i don't know what i'd have done with myself if i hadn't. i'm going to a drumline party tonight, should be fun. laurel's coming today as well, so we finally will be here at the same time. :-)
i really hope you're having a blast at A&M. i'm sure it's fun... hey, this isn't set in stone yet but i was thinking of heading your way the weekend of sept. 9th since we have an off-weekend here. if that happens we so need to get together! i'll call you if i'm coming.
well we're about to start practicing again, but i thought you'd prolly like getting mail so i decided to write you. hope all is well. love you bunches.

hey girl! i bet everything's going well at good 'ol ND? i bet it's quite a bit cooler up there...mmm... 100 degree summers are okay though as long as you have an indoor practice faciliy like we do. go alumni donations-woohoo! anyways, how are ya? i'm great... overworked and underpaid, but having a blast. i want to know how your auditions turn out! you'll probably tell me (i'll prolly ask)long before you ever get this letter, but oh well... letters are fun to recieve, even if they are kinda slow.
i miss all of you so much! it's so wierd to have to start over again, making new friends, learning how to live in the city... it's certainly different than SL, but i like it. drumline is so awesome... i've met so many people already and i still have two and a half days left in hell week! went to my first college party last night... lots of wasted people, but lots not drinking either, which was nice... i didn't feel alone in my sober-ness! actually, it was quite fun. so i expect that you tell me about hot guys at ND, i'm sure they exist-they sure do here, lol... es bueno! everything else is cool here too. hopefully i'll have a few pics of my room up on my blog soon so everyone can envy my coolness. anyway i'd better go, but i hope i made you happy sending you a letter! again, i hope all is well-love you bunches.

it's so interesting how some things change and some things stay the same, especially how the things you don't want to change change so quickly and the things you want to go away seem to last a lifetime...

i went to whole foods today with my girls. lindsay left her sandwich leftovers in my car. i'm eating them right now. mmm... so good. i hope heaven is like whole foods. that would be beyond cool.
