this day

i've done a few cool things today-insignificant, but cool nonetheless. first off, i went shopping (again, i know... i should really stop) and bought three shirts, one skirt, and one pair of capris for a total of about $30 at kohl's. i LOVE that store. the coolest thing i bought was a shirt with a green care bear on it (whichever that one is) that says "feelin' lucky". reminds me of my pledge sisters. that's why i like it. :-) also bought a longhorn shirt there, which brings me to another cool thing i did today-watch the UT baseball team win their game against Georgia to earn a spot in the CWS finals. horns up!

and a little bit ago, i recorded myself playing piano and singing "this day" by point of grace. i first heard this song at girls state actually, and every time i've heard it afterwards it has brought tears to my eyes. it's a really pretty song. i don't have the capabilities to post it from minidisc format onto here, so you'll just have to wait until the next time i'm in austin and have time to convert it. until then, i'll post the lyrics here, and that should satisfy you.

**********

this day is fragile - soon it will end
and once it has vanished, it will not come again
so let us love with a love pure and strong
before this day is gone

this day is fleeting - it slips away
not all our money can buy back this day
so let us pray that we might be a friend
before this day is spent

this day we’re given is golden
let us show love
this day is ours for one moment
let us sow love

this day is frail - it will pass by
so before it’s too late to recapture the time
let us share love, let us share god
before this day is gone
before this day is gone

**************

and tonight-who knows. maybe i'll find something fun to do. maybe not. if anybody has any ideas or even if you don't, be sure and give me a call ;-)
