impromptu
do you hear that?
the deafening silence of two worlds
colliding
crashing
crushing each other
rock on rock and steel on steel
the sounds reverberate into space
for nobody to hear
and nobody to notice then they
die away, leaving the silence,
and the fragments of what was
once whole, to endure.
do you feel that?
the sudden impact of two worlds
colliding
crashing
crushing each other
vibrations rattling the soul, rending
those beliefs once complete,
once perfect, once mine
and leaving in their trembling wake
a sea of uncertainty in which
i am slowly,
but surely, drowning.
do you see that?
the spectacle of two worlds
colliding
crashing
crushing each other
a delightfully violent explosion
exudes an eerie red glow-that of
passion and of desire
it burns like a flame
and i am drawn like the moth
i reach out to touch it, and
find it burns my flesh.
i scream, but
i am unheard
and then
i
fall
away
