today was such a great spiritual recharge for me. getting to see my parents and brother today, even if we just sat around and talked and went to see their new house (which will be AWESOME, by the way, once it's all fixed up) and went to chili's. it makes you realize how much you need that time around the ones you love. i don't get it often enough, even though my parents live so close now.

i know this happens to everyone, but the older i get, the more i respect and cherish my parents, and the more i want to someday be just like them (minus, of course, the whole accounting desk job-type thing). i've really taken for granted my upbringing my entire life, but it's incredible how big of an influence their loving home has had on who i am.

anyway. enough of that :-)

nebraska is a very cold, very flat state that apparently is home to a burgeoning seagull population - a flock of gulls flew into our engine coming back from the game, so we turned back, sat in the lincoln municipal airport for THREE HOURS waiting for a new plane to come from dallas, and got back about 5 hours later than scheduled. it was all worth it for the awesome game though :-)

gah advising for my final semester at UT is upon me.... it's scary.

yay for finally figuring out my thermostat, and consequently having MUCH lower electric bills!

also, yay for my new coffeemaker. old brew 'n go busted about a week ago, so it was time to pony up and buy a new one. it's the same one my parents have, and it's pretty freakin sweet.

yay also for buying a class ring very, very soon :-)... i didn't know if i wanted one initially (well, i did want one, but i thought it would be a wasts of $$), but i think i am going to get it. they're just so darn purdy!

finally, yay for my first day of work tomorrow. got cancelled the last two weeks-i am super excited about starting. yay, yay, yay, yay

i told myself last week that i was going to have a good week last week, and i was mostly successful. i hope to do the same this week... it's just that sometimes i get so incredibly hung up over really small things that i can't function. then, half an hour later, i realize that, really, none of this stuff is a big deal, and life goes on. it's just that half an hour that is incredibly annoying and i'm working on :-)

smile. relax. life is beautiful. people are beautiful. enjoy :-)
